How to watermark an image
- Drop or choose the photo you want to protect.
- Choose a text watermark (for example your name or website) or upload a logo; a PNG with transparency works best.
- Set the size, opacity and rotation, and pick one of nine positions, or switch on tiled to repeat it across the image.
- Download the watermarked image at its original resolution.
Watermark tips
- A small corner mark at 40–60% opacity credits your work without distracting from it.
- A large, tiled, semi-transparent watermark is harder to remove and suits previews of images you sell.
- Turn on the shadow for white text so it stays readable on light areas of the photo.
- Keep the original, unmarked file: you cannot remove a watermark once it is part of the pixels.
Removing location and camera data before sharing is just as important; use the EXIF viewer & remover.
All processing happens in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so the tool works with private photos and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
