How to crop an image
- Drop or choose an image.
- Pick an aspect ratio, or keep "Free" to crop any shape.
- Drag the crop box to move it and drag its corners to resize it. With the keyboard, focus the box and use the arrow keys to move it, or Shift + arrow keys to resize it.
- Use the rotate and flip buttons to straighten the image or mirror it.
- Choose a format and download the cropped image at full resolution.
Common aspect ratios
- 1:1: profile pictures, product photos and square posts.
- 4:5: portrait social posts that take up more of the feed.
- 16:9: video thumbnails, presentations and hero banners.
- 9:16: stories, reels and full-screen mobile images.
- 3:2 and 4:3: classic camera and blog photo formats.
The crop is taken from the original pixels, so no quality is lost unless you export as JPG or WebP. To change the overall size afterwards, use the image resizer.
All processing happens in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server, so the tool works with private photos and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
