Product Reviews

Tailwind CSS product reviews section with a clickable rating breakdown filter, sorting and helpful vote buttons.

What is a reviews component?

A reviews component displays customer feedback about a product: star ratings, written reviews, reviewer names, dates and often a rating summary with a breakdown per star level. Product reviews are one of the strongest trust signals in an online store, and they appear on product pages, category listings and dedicated review pages. Typical patterns include a rating summary bar chart, a review list, review cards with photos and a "write a review" form.

When to use a reviews section

  • Place the average rating and review count near the product title, and the full review list further down the page.
  • Show a breakdown per star level so shoppers can judge how ratings are distributed.
  • Offer sorting (newest, highest, lowest) and filters for larger review sets; paginate instead of rendering hundreds of entries.
  • Mark verified purchases and show the review date so readers can judge relevance.
  • Keep long reviews collapsible with a "Read more" control instead of cutting text silently.

Accessibility and best practices

Star ratings must have a text equivalent, for example "Rated 4.5 out of 5", because icons alone are not read reliably by screen readers. Rating breakdown bars should include the percentage or count as visible text. If readers can mark a review as helpful, use real buttons with a pressed state. For search engines, keep the visible rating consistent with any structured data you add on your own site.

Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS and pure CSS versions

Each reviews example comes with a live preview and code tabs for HTML and CSS, plus JavaScript where sorting or expanding is involved. Bootstrap 6 versions use the new alpha and its theme-* colour roles, Bootstrap 5 versions use cards, progress bars and badges, and Tailwind CSS and pure CSS versions keep the markup framework-free. Filter by framework, copy or download the code and wire the list to your review data.
